Dirk Plante joined Southwest Employment Services in the colourful autumn of 2024 as the Project Coordinator for the Ability Works Program. Born and bred in The Netherlands; as an immigrant, he lived for fifteen years on picturesque Vancouver Island where he toiled his way to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies and Creative Writing at the Vancouver Island University whilst wearing many hats in a variety of client-based industries such as the Canadian Blood Services and the hospitality sector, as well as managing his sole-proprietorship in the restoration of typewriters. Now he resides with his wife on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Dirk finds enjoyment in working with his fellow people. In his opinion, tightknit communities are the bread-and-butter of a prosperous society. Through his work as a Project Coordinator, he is thankful to have an opportunity in aiding his clients to climb their professional ladder.
