Elizabeth Zavala is an immigrant from Mexico, and she proudly calls Yarmouth her home since 2017. She holds a degree in International Business and a certification in English Language Teaching from abroad. As a Settlement Staff, she supports newcomers in settling into Yarmouth and integrating into the community. Elizabeth is passionate about cross-cultural communication and environmental sustainability, and she believes in nature's power to create change.

Her goal is to make a positive, lasting impact both locally and globally. Her journey from Mexico to Yarmouth has strengthened her belief in the importance of connection and understanding. Southwest Employment Services (SES) played a pivotal role in her career, offering trainings, job search, career counseling, and more. She is proud to be a board member of SES. Through her work at the YMCA/YREACH program, and as a co-facilitator in the Newcomer Peer Support Group, she is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and creating positive change.
